I'm addicted

Okay. My name is Laureli and I'm a Wii Fit Plus addict.
Wow! I don't work for the Wii Fit company, and I'm not going to gain anything by telling y'all this, but I can hardly wait to get up every morning and hop on my balance board.
There is a certain new game called "Island Bicycling" I believe. It allows you and your little mii guy to bicycle all over a fantasy island.
In real life, you are walking in place on your balance board, and using the remote control to steer.
However, I get so absorbed into the game, I don't even notice that I'm exercising until my legs start to hurt because I've been walking steadily for an hour-- sometimes two.
It would be more cool if I had to bike away from poisonous snakes, rabid dogs, or ferocious grizzly bears occasionally.
But just the challenge of finding all the flags on the island is enough to keep me wanting to try again every morning, and keep walking until I succeed.
And, by the way, I am succeeding. I am at the 50% mark-- half way to my weightloss goal. Also, the Wii asks me to take my waist measurement occasionally. As of today I have lost 3 inches off my waist since Jan 4th. Not bad. Oops. Time for bed!

  1. You've just convinced me to get it. I've been doing just Wii fit and have stood in front of the video games at Target a couple times wondering if I should spend money to get another workout game. I keep pretending that I'm going to "research" the options before I buy one. Next time I'm there I'm going to finally give in.

  2. That's awesome Laureli. I hear there's a Dance Party game that's a lot of fun and a good work out.

  4. I just saw a commercial for the "Dance Party" game. It looks like the whole family can play at the same time. That's one draw back with the Wii Fit Plus program. Even with the games that would naturally be played with two people-- like snowball fights-- can only be played one person at a time. For another person to play the first person has to sign out, and the second has to sign in. *sigh* Hopefully they'll fix that for the Wii Fit 3 version...
